First, what is truBody?

To put it simply, truBody is a customizable treatment that works to reduce fatand build muscle. “This full circle solution pairs the power of two complimentary devices—truSculpt iD and truSculpt flex—to maximize results and help you achieve your body goals faster,” explains a spokesperson from Cutera.

The treatment begins with truSculpt iD, which uses a monopolar RF platform that delivers long-lasting fat reduction with a quick 15-minute treatment. This targets the subcutaneous fat layer, resulting in an average of 24% fat reduction1,2 in just one treatment, and can be used on the abdomen and love handles.

Once the truSculpt iD treatment has been completed, the truSculpt flex treatment begins. This portion of the treatment utilizes Multi-Directional Stimulation (MDS) technology to selectively strengthen, firm, and tone the muscles of the treated area. Users typically see an increase of up to 30% muscle mass3, thanks to this part of the treatment.

How many sessions are needed to see results?

Your first treatment will take approximately 30 minutes to one hour to complete. It takes about 15 minutes to perform the truSculpt iD portion of your treatment and 15 or 45 minutes complete the truSculpt flex. “Subsequent muscle sculpting treatments to build muscle and customize your ideal shape can take as little as 15 minutes,” explains Cutera’s spokesperson.

According to the brand, noticeable results can be achieved with as little as one treatment of truSculpt iD and as little as four treatments with truSculpt flex. Who is a good candidate for this?

“Anyone who has a balanced diet and is physically active, but still has trouble spots on their body, will be a good candidate for this procedure,” explains Ramnit, an aesthetician at BYou Laser Clinic, adding that many women who have had children particularly like using this treatment to tone their abdomen area. “truBody treatments don’t have any BMI restrictions, but people who have a pacemaker, or other health conditions may not qualify.”

Is there any downtime or side effects?

Luckily, this treatment is associated with little to no downtime and potential side effects are minimal. Post-procedure, the treatment area will be warm and flushed for less than one hour. “While you may experience mild sensitivity to the touch for a few days, you’ll be able to immediately return to normal activities and exercise.”

Post-procedure, you may also notice tingling in the treated areas for up to a few hours, or slight muscle soreness or tenderness for 24 to 72 hours. It may feel as if you’ve recently completed a hard workout, but the feeling shouldn’t feel painful.
