Welcome to January, and the first month of 2022, Libra! When the month begins, your ruling planet, lover Venus, is still retrograde. Thankfully, it goes direct later this month. But for now, you may feel a little down in the dumps about your love life, even if you can't explain it. There's a new moon in dedicated Capricorn on Sunday, January 2, which brings your attention to your home life. So start the month with a mindfulness practice, Libra. Take note of all the good things that happen, whether it's a delicious dinner you cook or kind words from your partner. You can become obsessed with love, Libra. You are ruled by Venus, after all. But, especially when the planet is retrograde, beware of imploding a relationship just because you feel cranky.

Sometimes, even when you're utterly obsessed with someone, you will still sabotage the relationship. You're the sign of partnerships, Libra, but you're also a flighty air sign. Also, on Sunday, January 2, the communication planet Mercury enters Aquarius and turns your attention to pleasure, Libra. This transit helps you share your sexual needs with others. To feel better about your current or prospective relationships, go ahead and open up emotionally to a crush or partner. You can be more guarded than you think. If you're single, go wild on dating apps. But please, don't abuse your charm by going behind anyone's back just because you're feeling fidgety. 

As long as you remember to double-check that you're sending nudes to the right person, you can handle this Mercury retrograde with no problem.

The first Mercury retrograde of the year begins on Friday, January 14, and goes through Thursday, February 3. Remember, Libra: Mercury retrograde means communication errors, travel delays, and a return of former lovers. Then, in the middle of the cycle, on Tuesday, January 25. Mercury leaves Aquarius and enters hardworking Capricorn. Oh, were you about to slip up and text your ex, Libra? Thankfully, when the retrograde enters responsible Capricorn, your attention turns back to your home and family front. As long as you remember to double-check that you're sending nudes to the right person, you can handle this Mercury retrograde with no problem.

Monday, January 17, brings a bright full moon in Cancer, giving you a break from relationship worries as your mind turns to your work. Full moons are powerful times of manifestation, which means seeing results, Libra. Because this full moon occurs in your 10th House of Ambition, expect to hear good news on the professional front around this time. The independent planet Uranus goes direct on Tuesday, January 18; it's been retrograde since Thursday, August 19, 2021. While Uranus was retrograde, the stars asked everyone to adapt. For you, this meant adjusting your beauty routine to life during a pandemic. With Venus as your ruling planet, you tend to excel at at-home glamour. So give in to vanities and look your best, especially if you're going on Zoom interviews or attending important meetings.  

Relationships take work, Libra, and that's okay.

Aquarius season begins on Wednesday, January 19. Aquarius is the humanitarian of the zodiac, so this time of year encourages you to get involved in your local community. Whether it's anti-racism work, giving out masks, or volunteering at a local animal shelter, you'll find that putting effort into something bigger than yourself is a terrific outlet for all those busy voices inside of your head. Maybe it's the inspiration from helping others, or perhaps you needed a professional confidence boost, but when the warrior planet Mars enters Capricorn on Monday, January 24, you're ready to fight for your home life. Relationships take work, Libra, and that's okay. When Venus retrograde ends on Saturday, January 29, you're ready to address any concerns in your relationships head-on, rather than act passive-aggressive or text someone new to distract yourself.
