The Two-Minute Hair Trick That Gives My Thin Strands a Boost

It’s time I face it: Big, bouncy curls are just not in my future, nor have they been in my past. I have the kind of hair that shows exactly where the shears made a cut and where the curling iron clamp crimps—and if by chance I happened to master a beautiful ringlet curl, I know it’s destined to fall flat in minutes. That’s why I focus on adding more volume and shape to my hair instead of disappointing waves and curls. When you have thin and fine hair strands, the name of the game is more height. 

To get that lifted look, I spray Unite’s BOOSTA Volumizing Spray on damp hair that’s been brushed out. The next part is easy: I give my hair a simple rough dry and then grab three to four large self-gripping Velcro rollers and place them in a row on my head in a Mohawk pattern from my forehead to the back of my head. I’ll use my blow dryer to heat up the rollers even more and let them set. I finish the remaining sections with a round brush, but the combination of the volumizing spray and rollers are what give my hair that freshly blown out bounce and height.
