The Skin-Tightening Body Treatment Eva Longoria Calls ‘Amazing’

Eva Longoria has embodied many characters throughout her time in Hollywood, but the 47 year-old’s favorite role is undoubtedly being mom to four-year-old Santiago, aka Santi. 

But like any mother will tell you, bodies change after childbirth. While daily movement and a balanced lifestyle keeps Longoria looking as fit as ever, she’s openly opted for a little in-office help as InMode’s global ambassador to keep her feeling and looking like her personal best. 

We chatted with the actress, director and entrepreneur about her go-to treatments, skin-care favorites and her most memorable roles to date.  

Anyone who follows you on social media knows you are a very active person. What are some of your secrets to staying so fit and how did InMode play a role?

“Exercise is my mental health hour. Once I had a baby, I really took my time to ‘come back.’ And it was never about coming ‘back’ to the way I was. It was like, okay, here’s my new body, let’s see what’s happening. And so I slowly eased back into working out. I think Santi was eight months old before I went back.

But working out is also for my mind and the endorphins and starting my day with energy. And so I became more focused on it after Santi because I wanted to be a good mom. I wanted to have the energy to be a good mom. And for me, working out equated with having more energy in the day.

But then I hit a point where I kind of plateaued. I think he was maybe two or three and I did everything—I was eating well, I was exercising, and I just wanted to tighten the skin. That’s the thing that didn’t go back even though I was doing everything right. And so a mommy friend of mine was like, ‘Oh, you should do EvolveX on your stomach.’ And I was like, ‘What is that?’ and she’s like, ‘It’s this radio frequency [treatment] that tells your stomach to get tight again and it stimulates the collagen,’ and so I went in and I got the treatment. It was painless and noninvasive, it wasn’t surgery, it was just a laser. And I was like, ‘Oh my god. This is amazing.’ 

And then I learned about Morpheus8 and I was like, ‘Well, let’s tighten some stuff up there, too, let’s treat my face while we’re at it.’ So it felt like Pandora’s box or a secret that I didn’t even know about. And I loved that I came from a mommy friend of mine because, for me, I was like, ‘I’m in Hollywood, I should know all these secrets,’ and it wasn’t something I was aware of.” 

What kind of results did you see from each treatment?

“There was an immediate result, I saw immediate tightening. But after more sessions, I felt like ‘Oh, okay, this is working.’ And then I felt like I didn’t need them anymore. As opposed to a lot of other treatments I’ve done in the past where it’s like, you do this for life. I felt like it was doable and manageable and that’s what I liked about it.

I did Morpheus8 on my face and neck and there was zero downtime. I thought, ‘Oh, am I not going to be able to do a photoshoot or a Zoom?’ And there was nothing. I mean, it was really, for me, brightening and tightening. I really just felt refreshed. And that’s what I want. I don’t want a facelift. I’m not trying to beat aging, I just want to do it well. So radio frequency and microneedling that targets areas of your skin that you can’t target otherwise is really fascinating to me.”

Do you have any skin-care products you’ve used forever?

“I do. I can’t live without my hyaluronic acid. L’Oreal has a couple of different things. The whole Revitalift line is my favorite. We have these little ampules and you can do a seven day treatment with. We have a Triple Power cream that has glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. That’s one of my favorite moisturizers.”

You have played a variety of roles in your time in the industry. Is there one you relate to the most?

“Of course my most iconic role is Gaby Solis [from Desperate Housewives] and I loved her. I don’t relate to her because we’re very different people. But I love that she said and did what people wish they could say and do. Things would come out of her mouth and I was like, ‘Oh, I would never have the courage to say that or do that.’ And so I had a great appreciation for her having that talent.

One of the roles I loved playing most was being Dora the Explorer’s mom. Santi had just been born so it was my first time playing a mom while actually being a mom. And so that role for me was pretty special because I cared about Dora so much as her mom. And of course I could finally relate to the depth of love that that meant.”
