Tabitha Brown’s Favorite Vegan Beauty Products

Actress, social media sensation and clean-living lover Tabitha Brown has made a huge splash on Instagram and TikTok, taking her millions of followers on her wellness journey. She owns two restaurants in Los Angeles and Chicago called Kale My Name, and Brown has a bestselling book Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business): Finding Our Way to Joy, Love, and Freedom. The plant-based lifestyle that she’s well-known for has not only done wonders for the inside of her body, but her skin as well.

Brown tells InStyle a month after she shifted her diet, the number-one compliment she received was about her skin. “I was glowing,” she says. “My hair got thicker, fuller, and even more healthy.” Brown realized the importance of monitoring what went on her skin just as much as what went in her body. “I thought to myself, ‘Oh, Jesus, skin is my biggest organ, and these products can go into my bloodstream.’ So I started reading all of the labels.” So, InStyle had Brown test out some of the newest vegan and cruelty-free beauty products.

Brown gave Tarte Shape Tape Cloud Coverage ($39) a try. She loved the lightweight texture and the addition of SPF. “I’ve had a scar on my face since I was nine years old, and, honey, this foundation covered it right up,” she tells InStyle. “Usually, that’s something only my makeup artists can do!”

Energy spray may sound obscure, but Brown says Nue Co. Mind Energy ($95) is now part of her daily self-care practice. “I set intentions every day to do well, be well, feel well, and accept all good things,” Brown tells InStyle. “Then I use this spray, which not only gives me a calming moment, but also a boost of energy to go on and get my day together.”

Reusable products have become increasingly popular as the beauty industry takes a cold hard look at the waste it creates. Dieux Forever Eye Masks ($25) are a great innovation. Brown found them to have de-puffing benefits. She was even able to get work done while wearing them.

CBD is all the rage in beauty products. It can be easy to forget taking CBD on its own has worthwhile effects. She warns that they are “strong,” so she stays away from them while working, opting to take them when she has plenty of time to sit back and chill.
