Fourscore and many hair trends ago, a legendary rapper known notoriously as Lil Kim presented an iconic hair moment at the 2001 SS Versace Fashion Show — cleverly done by hairstylist Dionne Alexander. Paying proper homage to the iconic Italian fashion house, her blonde wig featured Greek symbols stenciled in her bangs and on the sides. Not only did the look completely transform fashion and hair trends to come, it made way for hairstyles and their possibilities to be damn near endless. As a result, hairstylists such as Mia Jackson a.k.a Tokyo Stylez have taken to the trend and have since implemented similar tactics with a unique twist. 

On March 31, Cardi B sparked our timelines with a bandana patterned wig posted by Stylez on Instagram. To promote an upcoming music project, the Bronx rapper was spotted in the streets with a bright red wig. Get this: not only is it a blunt cut but the wig is patterned in a similar fashion to a red bandana with black and white details. As for a final stamp of approval — apart from us beauty obsessives — Lil Kim was spotted among admirers in Tokyo Stylez's comments, where she posted a slew of fire and heart emojis.

There's no question that Stylez and Cardi B are a dynamic duo that inspires us all when it comes to hair trends. If we can recall, Louis Vuitton received major hair love when Cardi B stunned us with a printed ponytail stenciled with the label's signature quatrefoil emblems in a waist-length blonde ponytail done by Tokyo Stylez.
