Rihanna’s Hairstylist Loves This New Clarifying Shampoo

As someone who recently colored their hair after years of leaving it be, I quickly realized I had to swap out most of my favorite products because they had ingredients that weren’t safe for dyed hair. One product I had to kick to the curb was my detoxing, clarifying shampoo that I would rely on for a bi-monthly refresh. Lucky for me K18 is launching Peptide Prep Detox Shampoo ($38) on August 6.

K18 has been trending on TikTok for a while now, with celebs like Selena Gomez, Pete Davidson, Hailey Bieber and Halsey to thank. Yusef Williams, hairstylist to Rihanna, Normani and Lizzo, told us he loves the shampoo. I saw for myself just how clarifying the product was as the K18 team took pictures of my scalp before and after use, and let’s just say I never want to go without this detoxing wash again.

The new clarifying shampoo clears product buildup without stripping your color. It unclogs hair follicles and banishes dirt and oil. After using the Detox Shampoo, your hair will be the optimal clean canvas for any services, treatment or styling. The formula only features 17 ingredients, including activated charcoal and salicylic acid. As a bonus, it has an amazing clean citrus scent.

The Detox Shampoo isn’t the only goodie K18 is launching this week. The brand is also releasing Peptide Prep pH Maintenance Shampoo ($36). This formula features optimized pH levels, so you can cleanse frequently without disturbing your hair and scalp’s microbiome. While the Detox Shampoo is meant for use once a week or less, the pH Maintenance Shampoo should be used every time you wash your hair.
