After turning 30 during the pandemic (Ugh!), small, blue half-moons began forming under my eyes, likely due to stress, insomnia, and genetics (Thanks, Mom!). But because I didn’t have any plans outside of my 300-square-foot Brooklyn apartment, I paid no mind to my dark circles.

Now, years later — and with bigger, bluer undereye markings — I see them all the time… and want them gone. Or at the very least, smaller in size. Sure, concealer is an option, but I have been looking for a longer-lasting solution. Turns out, a great eye cream (particularly one packed with brightening vitamin C) can work wonders to help diminish dark circles. Enter, the recently upgraded Ole Henriksen Banana Bright+ Eye Creme, an Allure Readers’ Choice Award-winning eye cream.

The lightweight, peach-tinted cream blends easily into my skin to hydrate and brighten the undereye area, which means I can even skimp on concealer from time to time. A pea-size dot goes a long way. I dab the cream around the eye area using my ring finger. Although I prefer to use vitamin C products in the morning (before moisturizer and sunscreen), this eye cream makes an appearance in both my day and night routines because it’s that good. Buh-bye, dark circles!
