Marisa Tomei Shares Her Minimalistic Beauty Routine

Marisa Tomei has always had an effortless, natural beauty about her, so there’s no surprise that her routine is very minimal. “I’ve always kept it really simple,” Marisa Tomei said in a Vogue video. Her skin-care regimen is rooted in “organic, biodynamic ingredients,” and she sports limited makeup in her day-to-day, opting for bold lashes and muted skin makeup.

Tomei said she’s used the old reliable drugstore standby Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser ($11) for years. She also uses the Liquid Green Oil ($85) and Re:generative Rich Cream ($85) from I-N Beauty. Tomei shared an inexpensive product recommendation she got from a European makeup artist while at the Sundance Film Festival, Homeoplasmine, which she uses on her lips.

For her body, Tomei has a trusty triad. She uses Mutha’s Body Butter ($95), along with a couple of products from Lord Jones, to keep her skin hydrated and healthy. She demonstrated using the Bump & Smooth CBD Body Serum ($60) and shared a hack to help painlessly wear heels: the actress uses Stiletto Cream ($55) on her calves and feet to prepare for an evening in heels.

Her eyelashes are the biggest part of her otherwise minimalistic look. Tomei revealed that the one thing she can’t leave the house without is her Shiseido Eyelash Curler ($22). She holds the curler in place for five seconds on each set of lashes.

On her freshly curled lashes, Tomei applies Lancôme Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara ($26). While applying the mascara, Tomei shared a few of her favorite tricks, including sweeping the brush along the ends and backs of her eyelashes. She recalled how she used to lay her mascara on super thick and separate her lashes with safety pins back in the day.

Tomei admitted that she handles her eyebrows differently these days as she’s been trying to grow them out after the over-plucking of the ‘90s. She fills in any gaps on the outer ends where it’s a bit more sparse with a pigment by NARS and a liquid pen by Kristie Streicher.

The actress added a bit of Clé de Peau Beauté concealer, which she said she only does sometimes. For a subtle, rosy flush, she pops on a Charlotte Tilbury blush stick on both her cheeks and lips. She admitted to often overdoing it on the blush because she always feels she looks washed out. Tomei closes out her routine with a quick root touch-up using Style Edit’s Root Cover Up Stick ($30).
