DermaDoctor KP Duty Body Peel Pads ($28)

There’s something about a peel pad that’s so satisfying. It’s the easiest thing to use, and it delivers big results. If bumpy skin (aka keratosis pilaris or KP) is the bane of your existence, try these new peel pads. They’re large enough to use on parts of the body like the arms and legs, and also work on ingrown hairs (yes, the bikini area is fair game).

Like a peel for your face, these pads rely on a potent mix of acids—lactobionic, glycolic, lactic, salicylic, linoleic and linolenic—for gentle chemical exfoliation that unclogs pores and hair follicles for a smoother look and feel. “What oat milk does for lattes, Alt Milk does for bathing,” says the brand. This in-shower body conditioner—think of it like a body cream you wash off—adds an upgrade and much-needed moment of self-care to a basic daily routine. You can also use it in the bath too.

Especially helpful for dry skin thanks to its ultra-hydrating blend of vitamins, oils and milks—including oat, pistachio and coconut—it activates when mixed with water to penetrate the skin, leaving it feeling baby-soft and pampered. Plus, it smells like the beach.

StriVectin Bump Exfoliating Body Scrub ($30)

StriVectin knows people with KP (aka chicken skin) are frustrated and want solutions, fast. And as we approach shorts weather, this couldn’t ring more true. This scrub uses a mix of physical and chemical exfoliants like rice powder and lactic acid to smooth the surface of the skin.

In clinical testing, 97 percent of participants saw an improvement in their rough, bumpy skin and 91 percent saw an improvement in their KP after four weeks of use. However, the scrub (and corresponding Texture Smoothing Body Cream) reduced the look of redness from dry skin after just one week. I personally have KP, and the redness is a big part of the battle!
