Laneige Just Reformulated Their Best-Selling Sleeping Mask

Fans of the top-selling Laneige Water Sleeping Mask would agree there’s virtually zero modifications necessary to the before-bed step, but the geniuses behind the Korean-bred skin-care brand won’t stop until they achieve perfection—and that they did. 

Back and better than ever—don’t worry, it still has the same pudding-like texture we know and love—the revamped Water Sleeping Mask ($29) from Laneige is making its second debut and boasts a brand-new ingredient label, sustainable upgrades and more.

Ingredient Intel 

The reformulated mask will now include two new hydrating ingredients: Powerful Probioitc Derived Complex and squalane. Per the brand, the Complex contains lactobacillus ferment lysate—derived from 23.8 billion green tea probiotics—and trehalose. When combined, the cocktail works to strengthen and pad the skin’s moisture barrier while encouraging brighter, clearer-looking skin. 

Skin-care star squalane—it’s derived from sugar cane and is loved for its ability to mimic natural lipids or oils found in the skin—delivers weightless moisture to a parched complexion.

Sustainable Strides

Not only does the product’s bottle contain less plastic than the original, the outer packaging is created with FSC certified paper (meaning it originates from forests that are managed responsibly), and Laneige now boasts a Water Footprint certification, guaranteeing water is being used in a responsible way. 

Skin Safe 

Got sensitive skin and strict standards? No problem. The formula is gentle, hypoallergenic and seven-free, meaning there’s zero animal ingredients, mineral oil, polyacrylamide, imidazolidinyl urea, triethanolamine, synthetic pigments, or PEG surfactants inside.
