Even as a longtime silk scrunchie evangelist, I was surprised by how good Kristin Ess’s version is. Of course, I love an oversized silk scrunchie for sleeping — the fabric helps keep my hair smooth without creating the dreaded ponytail crease — but typically I’ve had to swap in something a little sturdier for my workouts. Kristin Ess Oversize Scrunchie seems to have a tighter inner band than most, which means it stayed put for my morning runs and didn’t budge during my nighttime dance class. Plus, it’s pretty enough to wear when I’m not working out, too; I love the rust color for fall.
