Kelis, who is no stranger to bright hair color, took to Instagram on Sunday, February 6, 2022 to premiere her bouncy new hairdo. Even though she's been rocking red for a few months now, it's these luscious curls that I can't stop fangirling over. 

While there's so much to unpack in this less than ten-second Instagram reel, Kelis gave us glam in every sense of the word. She showed off her red nails, bright pink lipstick, and curly hair in slow-mo while Juvenile's viral hit "Slow Motion" played — a brilliant use of the the song's chorus. The reel's caption gave her viewers the exact recipe to achieve this lustrous look: "Slow motion for ya. Red velvet. This bounce feels so good. BOUNTYANDFULL.COM. I used my biotin rose hair mist and mushroom plum split end and setting treatment."

After taking a scroll through Kelis's feed, I'm wondering if this is her natural hair or just a flawlessly-styled wig. Just one week ago, she posted a colorful beauty look with short ringlets barely two inches long. While that answer remains a mystery — wig or no wig — I'm still tempted to purchase that biotin rose hair mist and read up on the benefits of mushroom plum for split ends. Aren't you?

It also wouldn't be a full-on glam selfie if diamonds weren't involved, now would it? The sparkly diamonds draped across the singer's neck and wrists twinkled as Kelis shook her hair from left to right, giving us more than I could ever bring to the table on a self-care Sunday night. I can't wait to see what Kelis does next with her cut — short or long — because it never disappoints. In the meantime, you can find me scrolling Kelis's grid and bookmarking her array of hairstyles from long braids to pixie cuts and locs, since she's always experimenting with that velvety red head.
