First and foremost, the serum contains beta carotene, a form of vitamin A derived from pink algae. It acts similarly to retinol (another form of vitamin A) in that it helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles, but it’s less sensitizing — so you aren’t as likely to be left with redness and irritation.
