I Tried Hailey Bieber’s Favorite Vitamin C Serum

I know I’m not alone in my drop-everything-and-purchase reaction whenever Hailey Bieber, aka the queen of glow, shares a product recommendation. But, whether it’s due to different skin types, different skin goals or different budgets, not every product recommendation—be it from Bieber or my best friend—is a perfect fit. 

One product that has impressed both celebrities and my circle of friends: Beautystat Universal C Skin Refiner Vitamin C Serum ($85), the pick that Bieber says “changed her skin.”

My Skin Type:

Combination, but leaning towards oily, with pronounced pores. My T-zone tends to get extra slick midday and my cheeks stay pretty dry-to-normal. 

The Benefits:

Aside from its celebrity-approved status, the product is also known as “the world’s first 20% vitamin C serum containing stabilized L-ascorbic acid,” aka the purest version of vitamin C. The radiance-boosting hero ingredient is paired with hydrating squalane, antioxidant-packed EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), a green tea–derivative, and tartatic acid, a natural exfoliator. 

Unlike many vitamin C serums, this one doesn’t boast your traditional serum texture. Instead of a liquid dispensed from a dropper, it’s a rich, velvety-smooth formula that feels similar to a skin primer of sorts. But don’t worry: it’s completely translucent and layers seamlessly when worn under makeup, too.

How to Use It:

Apply a pea-sized amount to your entire face morning and night for best results.
