Is it a bird? Is it a plane? As of right now, we have no idea what Selena Gomez's new back tattoo is. New York City-based tattoo parlor Bang Bang Tattoo shared a black-and-white photo on December 15 of new ink on the Rare Beauty founder and Only Murders in the Building actor. 

Gomez's back is toward the camera, providing a glimpse of her new ink. The photo was taken from a distance in the front corner of a building, leaving many of the tattoo parlor's followers (including myself), speculating about the design. Several users wrote in the comments that they think the tattoo is of a dream catcher. 

Many people also shared how difficult it is to see the artwork. One Instagram user blatantly expressed their frustration with not being able to interpret what the ink is, writing, "WHAT IS IT???" The camera is so far away from Gomez's back that another user declared their inability to view it with the plea, "CLOSER PLEASE." 

If we had to take a guess at what this mysterious tattoo is, we would have to agree with some Instagram users who commented that it might be a bleeding heart. Several lines of different sizes seem to be emerging from a shape with two arches, leading us also to assume that Gomez's tattoo is perhaps a bleeding heart.
