Whether you binged the series on Hulu or are simply inspired to add some ‘90s glam to your look, Anderson’s signature voluminous curls, side-swept bangs, and striking blonde locks continue to inspire many to take their hair game to the next level. 

But let’s face it, getting your hair to look as flawless as the Baywatch star can come with its risks. Achieving that perfect shade of blonde or cutting those bangs can be daunting, and guidance from a professional hairstylist can make all the difference. 

What to expect

Before attempting to color and bleach to match Anderson’s blonde locks, professional hairstylist Jennifer Korab emphasizes the importance of consulting a hair professional beforehand to help achieve her hair color. “Depending on your hair color, it could require a few sessions to help you achieve her look so you maintain the integrity of your hair. Especially if you have dark hair, the process of becoming blonde is more involved. This can require a few lightening and proper toning sessions,” she says.

What to ask for

When it comes to Anderson’s hair color, clients should ask for a bright and shiny blonde that has a slightly warmer tone. “Her blonde is so bright and buttery, it compliments her [Anderson’s] skin tone,” notes celebrity hairstylist Glenn Ellis. Depending on your current hair color and desired look, either a full head of highlights or balayage will work effectively. In the case of those with dark hair, Ellis says, “it usually takes a few sessions to get you brighter, lighter color. Your colorist will know how far they can lighten the hair in that one session and plan accordingly for your next, keeping your hair in good health!” 

To achieve Anderson’s signature hairstyle, ask your stylist for long layers that frame your face and blend seamlessly into the rest of your hair. You may also want to ask for some texturizing to help create those loose, effortless waves. 

How to care for it

Maintaining healthy hair throughout the color process doesn’t stop after a trip (or a few) to the salon.
