With so many hair removal options (along with the option to not remove it), I could only guess what celebrities like Cardi B count on for their silky smooth skin. Well, the guessing game is now over as far as the rapper is concerned. She says in her Instagram Story from May 26, "I really just wanted to let you all know that I finally found a place where they have the right laser for my skin," she says. Going on about her hair removal frustrations — including razor bumps, ingrown hair, and uneven skin tones down there and on the underarms — Cardi stresses that laser hair removal is the way to go.

"You need to laser so your hair can get softer, and little by little your hair will stop growing," says Cardi. And while she isn't wrong, it's important to understand how laser hair removal works, and what type of hair it works best on along with the timeline for treatment process results. Tracy Evans, MD, a San Francisco-based board-certified dermatologist previously told Allure, "In areas where the hair is finer (thinner), the hairs are more difficult to target, so they require more treatments. If the patient has a skin color that is close to their hair color, it can also take more treatments." Plus, skin with numerous hormonal receptors, such as the groin and beard area, may require additional treatments.

While we can't deny that laser hair removal can slow down the hair growth process and lighten dark spots when using a pulsed dye laser, it's extremely important that you receive laser treatment for hair removal from a dermatologist's office. Remember, it's lasers we're talking about here and they're not meant for everyone, especially those that are pregnant. Thankfully, Cardi B talked about just that in her video, saying when she was pregnant, she was so sad because she couldn't laser. "But we all good now," she jokes, now that she's since given birth and is able to resume laser treatments. 

Cardi B goes on in her video to stress the importance of finding the right type of laser for your skin, which again, we agree with and is a conversation to have with your… you guessed it, dermatologist! As far as her boasting about "three more sessions" until she doesn't have any hair down there, Grosse Point, Michigan-based dermatologist Shauna Diggs says it takes about six to eight sessions to get rid of at least 90 percent of the hair in an area. Of course, that treatment timeline varies from person to person and hair growth area to hair growth area. 

Now, she wouldn't be Cardi B if she didn't throw in a joke or two, and in this case, it was about being hairless after her three treatments. "I'm going to be like one of those alien cats that don't got no hair," the rapper jokes. Throwing up a photo of the cat she's referring to in the next video in typical Cardi B fashion. Speaking of which, can we take a moment to appreciate that stiletto-lengthed, glittery French manicure of hers? While I simply could not function with nails almost the length of my fingers themselves but on her, I'm here for it.
