Brooke Shields Is Sending a Message About Aging and Body Positivity in Topless Campaign

Brooke Shields bares all for Jordache’s Spring 2022 campaign. The two eighties icons teamed up and clearly demonstrated that they’re both better than ever. Although Shields has done a lot of modeling over the past 40 years, the last time she appeared in a denim campaign was when she was 15 years old. She revealed to People that she appreciates the opportunity even more at age 56.

“It’s such an honor to be my age and be represented. I feel the magnitude of it more,” Shields tells People. “There’s a knowledge that comes with age, and this feels less like a job and more like a privilege.” Ahead of working with Jordache, Shields says she was upfront about her stance on retouching. “It was important for you to see this is my 56-year-old body and to fight the retouching,” Shields says. “I’m always like, ‘You better keep it honest.’ And we did.”

When it came time to take some topless shots, Shields was ready. “I knew Cass [Bird, the photographer] would handle it well, and I also knew it wouldn’t be exploiting at all,” says Shields. “There’s something about owning your sexuality at this age that is on point for where we are today.”

Shields prepared tirelessly for the shoot with her trainer, Ngo Okafor. The duo did 5 A.M. workouts, and Shields reveals that she wasn’t drinking at the time, which made it easier for her to get up early. “I pushed it to the limit. My ego helped! I thought, ‘If you do these pictures and you are not happy with what you see, you’ll be hard on yourself.’” Luckily, after all her hard work, Shields nailed the look while also promoting body positivity for women over 50.
